Siberut Island Rehabilitation Project
Mentawai Islands, Indonesia
An 19,875-hectare rainforest conservation project protecting one of Indonesia’s most unique island ecosystems. Sustainology supports improved forest management, assisted regeneration, and community-led conservation to prevent unsustainable logging while creating sustainable livelihoods for Indigenous communities. The project protects habitat for endemic and threatened species including the Mentawai macaque, Mentawai leaf monkey and Kloss’s gibbon.
